In his work, novelist and essayist Jan Čep often talks about a second world that is hidden from human eyes, a second home in which, as Čep believes, "all things will be present at the same time and desire will not be suffering, but pleasure without end. We will see each other there face to face, no longer just in a mirror and likeness, and the scars of our hearts will sparkle like stars”. Through the texts of Jan Čep, creators Lucie Trmíková, Saša Rašilov, Mélusine de Pas and Jan Nebeský will try to open the gates of this second reality.

The title Double Home is also apt for Čep's lifelong situation. He left communist Czechoslovakia in 1948 and lived in his second home, France, until his death. All his life, however, he never stopped longing for Bohemia, his first home, to which he never returned after his emigration. His work was very little accessible during the forty years of communism. It was only in 1991, almost twenty years after his death in exile in France, that his complete edition was published in the Czech Republic.
