Bone Breath - Deep Relationship of Pelvis and Psoas in Movement-Meditation Practice
Bone Breath - Deep Relationship of Pelvis and Psoas in Movement-Meditation Practice
The founder of osteopathy, Andrew Taylor Still, once said - "Begin at the bones. However, don't stop at them only..." He was well aware that the work with the breath of the bones, their motility, which we know in craniosacral work, qigong, but also in some branches of yoga and meditation, cannot be dealt with in isolation. It is impossible to work with bones without being aware of their relationship with tissues.
Muscles and bones form one integrated structure, tensegrity (tension integrity - structure of integrated tension). And it is this complete structure of the bone and tissues of the pelvis that we will examine. Her ability to move in space. Through walking, movement on the ground (floorwork), in interaction, but also in yoga positions.
We will gradually go deeper into working with breath, sound and frequency through Continuum Movement. We will invite lightness of being and juice into our basin. Literally. The basis of somatic movement, or embodiment, is to create space in the body. This space later determines the experience of our body and the reality around us. Physically, emotionally, mentally. And the juice? This is a symbol for the ability of the gels in the fascia to move freely. "Slide and glide" - float over each other. Just as whales float in the ocean.
Experiencing space and oceanic movements even on ordinary days, when life is faster, more demanding, more stressful, is the intention of many styles of somatic movement practice, martial arts or even yoga (Kashmiri tantra). We know that with our liquid, gravity-relieved pelvis, our life is also a little easier and more playful. Deeper contact with the pelvis and psoas offers us to support ourselves from the inside and thereby invite more resilience into our lives - the ability to return to our dynamic center even in more demanding life trials.
This workshop is part of somatic education in cooperation with ISMETA (The International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association) and is suitable for practitioners of various movement-meditation styles, but also for body-based psychotherapists and physiotherapists focused on active involvement of the client.
Martin Ďuriš is a somatic educator and facilitator who specializes in complex, integral somatic practice as a tool for deeper self-discovery, individual development, but also embodied development in relationships. Martin is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist/ISMETA. He is sincerely interested in the topic of health as such, in its many forms. He studied Health & Physical Activity Foundation Degree in Great Britain. This direction is focused on "health promotion". The basic theme is the development of the individual and the community through physical activity and art. This topic remains his main intention and subject of further study.
The basis of his work is integral yoga therapy, which he studied under the guidance of Dr. Ganesh Mohan and Dr. Günter Niessen, who effectively connect the wisdom of the legacy of yoga and the useful knowledge of modern medicine. His life and way of working are greatly influenced by the approaches to the human body and consciousness, which come from various traditions of the wisdom of native cultures, yoga/meditation and martial arts.. These principles can also be found in modern medicine, osteopathy, or current movement-somatic therapeutic directions.
Martin is a facilitator of Holotropic Breathwork and integral holotropic practice. Grof Transpersonal Training is focused on transpersonal psychology, altered states of consciousness, deeper work with the body and consciousness. Process-oriented work and following the liveliness of the Field continue to be a great inspiration for him. Martin approaches clients with a holistic approach, where he logically and sensitively combines knowledge and principles from various directions of the East and West, which support the health of the person and the community.
