Harmoneast Ensemble presents
East meets West: Turkish and Viennese elegance
The Harmoneast Ensemble invites you to East Meets West: Turkish and Viennese Elegancem a program in which rich melodies from the Ottoman court come to life in a fresh, contemplation. This music, full of rhythm, refinement and emotion, says stories from yesteryear that still resonate today.
about the program:
The music of the Ottoman court is refined, rhythmically complex and deeply connected to poetry, mysticism and improvisation. Western court music, on the other hand, is looking for harmony, structure and expressive clarity. In this program, both worlds touch each other in compelling longas and marches. Music that transcends boundaries and connects cultures.
Two special pieces are the heart of this concert: the sparkling şehnaz Longa of Santuri Ethem Efendi and the solemn Aziziye Marşı by Guatelli Paşa. In addition, even more works from both traditions sound carefully chosen to merge the richness of these musical cultures and to take the audience on a journey through time and space.
