The album is a homage to three exceptional musicians with a special friendship that started in Budapest more than a hundred years ago. As young students, they got to know each other around the 1920s at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, where they studied composition at Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók and where they developed to masters on their instrument, the cello, violin and piano,
Deksten, and onto their own. More in the Netherlands where they played an important role in Dutch music life. They married here, and Székely and Frid lived there for years. Hermann stayed in Berlin, but often traveled to his in -laws in the Netherlands. Unfortunately his life had a tragic end, he did not survive the war. Székely and Frid became Dutch citizens after the war. Frid continued to live in the Netherlands until his death in 1989, Székely emigrated to the United States and Canada.

At the concert you will hear a selection of the repertoire of the new CD and Lex Bohlmeijer will provide the presentation. Afterwards we would like to raise the glass with you to Toast on 'Echoes of Budapest'!
