Vitamin is happy to announce the first edition of Echology, an irregular series of audio/visual installations and performances, developed in collaboration with @vodojemyzlutykopec
The Echology series explores the unique acoustic properties of Brno's disused water tanks, recently repurposed as a cultural hub. The invited artists are tasked with harnessing the space’s extreme echoes, using them as a tool for sonic and emotional resonance. The first Echology will feature Oliver Torr and Axonbody with their joint project, AXONTORR, and mʊdʌki, an audiovisual artist, sound designer, and sonic curator from Minsk, Belarus.
AXONTORR's audiovisual performance combines electronic compositions at the intersection of music and sound design with perception-shattering stroboscopic visuals. After performances at CTM Berlin, Rewire Hague, Ment Ljubljana, and Lunchmeat Prague, AXONTORR will present a new version of their live set specially adapted for the water tanks, utilizing their new self-designed instruments and large-format LCD screens spread around the cavernous space of Vodojem #3.
Mʊdʌki’s work delves into the intersections of sound, space, and acoustic ecology through field recordings, synthesis, and spatial audio. Her opening performance will present a contrasting approach to AXONTORR’s, with stripped down, contemplative sound synthesis and a consciously self-limiting approach to light, or rather the lack thereof, offering the visitors a chance to wander and dissolve.
