Echt - Film o malíři Janu Mertovi / promítání + diskuze

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, we cordially invite you to the House of Arts on the screening of Echt - a film about the painter Jan Mert (2024, directed by Tomáš Merta) followed by discussion with Tomáš and Jan Mert. The discussion will be led by art theorist and teacher Radek Horáček. Through the eyes of his son Tomáš, we gradually follow the father's seemingly carefree work, where the gallows can take years. We see Merta in his everyday life as he seeks every possible excuse to avoid painting. But everyday life by Jan Merta brings many funny or bizarre situations, some of which sometimes illuminate him with a sudden inspiration. We are gradually finding that its creative process never stops - even in the most famous moments, when it is tossed by garden compost.
