Their music revolves around everything that connects, separates and divides people drives – the Dutch singer-songwriter Eefje de Visser has long been one of the most influential musicians in her country. Her career began in 2009 by winning the “Grote Prijs van Nederland”, a national music casting show. Eefje, who learned the guitar at an early age and wrote her first songs, had been on stage for almost a decade. But with the finale her life changed suddenly: she dedicated herself entirely to music and released her debut album “De Koek” in 2011. Just two years later, “Het is” followed, which became even more successful in the charts. Eefje de Visser had found her own sound: somewhere between alternative pop and folk, at the same time mystical, dark, energetic and warm. With “Nachtlicht” (2016) their sound became even more electronic, even more driving – and captivated the press and fans alike. Not just in their home country, but also internationally. Although she sings exclusively in Dutch, her dreamy songs effortlessly overcome any language barrier. You feel their music immediately. With “Bitterzoet” she published her best-known work to date in 2020. The album reached the top 3 in the Netherlands and even reached number 1 in Belgium. It was named the best Dutch album of the year several times.
After this success, she retreated to her home studio and returned with her most intimate songs to date: On “Heimwee” (2024) she talks about her pregnancy, the pandemic and the first moments as a mother - as honestly and powerfully as never before.
In October, the second part of “Heimwee” will be released with “Vlijmscherp” - both albums form a diptych and appear as a double album. In it, Eefje de Visser unfolds her magical, realistic world, moving between extremes and yet remaining hopeful: from darkness to light, from strangeness to closeness, from fragility to strength - and takes her audience with her on this intimate journey. In spring 2026 she will go on a big tour with the double album, including three exclusive concerts in Germany. Anyone who experiences Eefje de Visser live will immediately feel the magic of their performances: intense, visually impressive and emotionally moving. Enchantment guaranteed!
