About event
"Victory is only the beginning - the end begins right now."
Just a few weeks after Donald Trump's second victory in the US presidential elections, Elfriede Jelinek wrote the play - or rather a celebratory poem - ENDSIEG.
She ironically sings about a new savior, traces the rise of the alt-right movement, the formation of MAGA and the use of memes as a tool of culture wars.
From the dark of political material, Jelinek creates a surreal grotesque – sharp, disturbing and subversive. The play is a challenge to critical thinking and the courage to disagree at a time when the line between truth and propaganda is blurring.
Elfriede Jelinek, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, is a tireless fighter against all forms of populism, fascism and power pathologies. Her lyrics are sharp, ironic, but also deeply human.
A stellar Slovak cast in a strong social statement.
Four outstanding acting personalities of Slovak theater will meet on stage:
Zuzana Fialová
Robert Roth
Annamária Janeková
Dávid Hartl
