About event
Few powerful women in world history have managed to stimulate the fantasy as Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
A quarter of a century after the Dutch premiere, producers Albert Verlinde, Jaco Kaasschieter and Matthijs Bongertman bring the beautiful musical about the lives of this striking quirky and modern woman.
International musical star Pia Douwes, who previously managed to impress in the home and abroad in the title role, returns in this new adaptation as the ambitious, empathetic woman who gave her heart to Emperor Frans Jozef at a young age. But who slowly but surely perished to the obligations and limitations that the court life entailed.
The musical contains countless famous songs, including "My Life is mine" that expresses the motto of Sissi.
Danique Danée shines in "Elisabeth" like the young Elisabeth. Other main roles are for: William Spaaij, Milan van Waardenburg and Ann van den Broeck.
