About event
Embrujo Flamenco arrives in Portugal in March and, on the 15th, at the Coliseu dos Recreios.
Directed by Antonio Ariza Momblant, this production brings together the talented dancers of the Compañía de Baile Flamenca José Lucena, the musicians of Hesperian Symphony Orchestra and flamenco singer Belén Vega, to create a unique experience that celebrates the strength and poetry of flamenco.
The piece is inspired by the ballet "Embrujo Flamenco", originally composed by Manuel de Falla in 1915, which tells the story of a gypsy spirit who returns to the world of the living to protect the love of his wife, Candelas. Falla's music, adapted for orchestra, combines with flamenco dances and songs to transport the audience on an exciting journey through Spanish tradition.
