Emily

The year is 1913 and the Englishwoman Emily Davison throws herself under a galloping horse at the Epsom race in the name of the fight for women's suffrage.

Michal Belej's author's play is loosely inspired by the life and death of the most radical figure of the women's feminist movement in the United Kingdom and explores the behavior of an oppressed individual in a rigid society. activism and terrorism, masculinity and femininity, victim and manipulator. The incident took place over a hundred years ago, but Emily's story offers themes closely tied to the stereotypical division of the world that still resonate today. The creators naturally ask themselves the question: where have we moved in that time?

“One great tragedy can prevent many more.” Emily Davison

Warning: The production is intended for an adult audience. Thematically, it deals with suicide and violence against women, which may be disturbing for some viewers.
