Spinning Babies® begins with spinning the fetus to reveal the lesser-known physiology of birth anatomy. Your passion, our approach. Start to see solutions in the progress of labor with this new look at childbirth. After this workshop, you will be able to:
- Facilitate the comfort of pregnancy and childbirth for your clients
- Improve the position of the fetus without manipulating it
- Identify problems more quickly; act gently to shorten a long labor or avoid a cesarean
- Use less (or no) force to resolve malposition and dystocia.

This training presents the Spinning Babies®️ approach to comfort during pregnancy, progress during labor to facilitate childbirth. Spinning Babies®️ asks a new question: “Where is the baby?” Participants learn new solutions for long and later labors, but also for dystocia and to relieve pain. Spinning Babies®️ presents a new perspective on the anatomy of labor and how it relates to fetal position. Find out why we think the baby's position is just a reflection of the space available in the mother's body. Spinning Babies®️ uses muscle stretching techniques and myofascial techniques. It’s as simple as “making room for the baby.” We soon realize that fetal position is only a hint of what is needed and perhaps not the initial cause of a long and complicated labor. Bring ease back to birth. Enter the new birth paradigm that is Spinning Babies.
This workshop will be presented in French.
Who should attend?
We welcome all professionals working with pregnant women. Specializations included: doulas, nurses, midwives, obstetricians, chiropractors, early childhood professionals, paramedical professionals to support pregnant women. The content is not very technical but requires a minimum of knowledge of the stages of labor and fetal positions.
Food and refreshments
Snacks, coffee and tea will be provided . We will take a 60 minute lunch break. Bring your lunch or hang out with new friends.
Special remarks
Dress comfortably as we will be moving around and practicing techniques with each other.

About the trainer - Nikki Zerfas
Nikki Zerfas, RNC-EFM, IBCLC, SpBAP , Spinning Babies®️ Approved Trainer
Nikki is a Spinning Babies Approved Trainer, Obstetric Nurse (specializing in labor and delivery for high-risk pregnancies), IBCLC certified lactation consultant.
Nikki presents Spinning Babies workshops in North America and Europe. She currently works as a nurse at Washington State University Hospital in Seattle.
Her personal goal is to facilitate collaboration across all disciplines around pregnant women and their birth stories. She finds great joy in bringing doulas, midwives, doctors and body workers together to improve care for women and babies.
Continuing Education
Each participant will receive a participation document.
Maternity House Publishing, Inc. (dba Spinning Babies ®) is accredited as a provider of continuing professional education in nursing by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This activity has been allocated 7 contact hours by the ANCC.
Many doula and childbirth training organizations accept these contact hours; check your organization's policies.

The Spinning Babies® Workshop is a prerequisite for participation in the Spinning Babies® Integration Workshops, the Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator Training or the Spinning Mindful Practitioner Workshop Babies®. You can attend the Solving Shoulder Dystocia and Seating Basics workshops before attending the Spinning Babies® workshop, but we recommend attending the Spinning Babies® workshop first. br/>
Conditions of use
This workshop does not give rise to certification in Spinning Babies®️, but only to a certificate of participation. Participants will not be able to use the name Spinning Babies® to describe their services, for example offering Spinning Babies®️ sessions or saying "trained in Spinning Babies" after registering or attending this workshop. Participants can use the concepts and techniques introduced in the workshop in their practice. Additional training is available to eligible participants, leading to a contractual relationship for registration or certification and use of the Spinning Babies®️ brand and name.
