About event
Hiro Kone has already presented herself to the Prague audience twice. Now he returns to Prague in a new collaboration with sound artist and performer Tot Onyx under the name Enxin/Onyx.
Tot Onyx (Tommi Tokyo) is also one half of the duo Group A, which invokes a rather radical concept of minimal wave, original electro industrial and performance with native elements of Japan. Hiro Kone (Nicky Mao) means "I agreed" in Iroquois, but the artist herself definitely did not say her last word. Since her debut in 2011, she has gone through several changes in her expression, from more electronic pop compositions to a more pronounced influence of ethnic instruments to broken techno and experimental ambient. She also has joint recordings with Little Annie Anxiety or Drew McDowall.
Both ladies already collaborated in 2018 on the single Pure Expenditure from the album of the same name. Their new project Enxin/Onyx then initiated Berlin's Atonal festival and straddles the line between schism and harmony, abandoning their former distinctive features in favor of something symbiotic and unsettling. Haunting voices bubbling among shifting electronics, volatile at times, confrontational at others. Metallic and wild, dark and sharp, that's their debut EP Dorothy, a full-length album they'll be releasing soon on Other People.

The evening will be opened by duo Lofn, backed by Aitcher Clark and Anna Coranić (alias Anakver). Their post-punk-informed variation on industrial and ambient techno was last released by Veyl Records on Post-Apo Romance. They performed for the first time in 2017 and since then played on stage alongside Oake, Grebenstein or SØS Gunver Ryberg, you could also see them at Lunchmeat or as part of Jednoty Polom.
