About event
The work of a famous German writer
Goethe-Institut Bratislava cordially invites you to an event dedicated to the work of the famous German writer Erich Kästner. The lecture is dedicated to Kästner as an author of children's books and a poet of the 20s of the 20th century and sheds light on his work in the context of the artistic direction of the New Reality.
Habil will also speak as part of the lecture. dr. Jürgen Eder, an expert in the field of German literature from the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, will introduce you to the work of Erich Kästner. It will present Kästner's literary versatility and his important role within the literary direction of the New Objectivity. In addition to the lecture, you can also look forward to a selection of Kästner's poems that will be recited and reflect his critical and at the same time humorous view of the world.
The event offers you the opportunity to get to know Kästner not only as an author of classic children's books, but also as a penetrating poet whose works still touch people of all ages.
We look forward to your participation and a stimulating literary evening. The literary evening was financially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
