About event
Let's rescue songs that take us back to bygone times and distant places, but that in the end have never become out of date nor stopped telling us about everyday life in cities. We propose a polyphonic journey to get in touch with the voice and rhythms that we bring with us. In each gathering a new arrangement for voices and timbrels of a traditional Portuguese song will be brought.
Who can participate?
This gathering is for those who want to sing and get to know or deepen knowledge about the tambourine.
Do I need to know how to sing? No.
Do I need to know how to play the tambourine? No.
Do you need to have a tiffin? No.
And... what will the song be?
That's a surprise!
The project "I don't know how to sing" was born as a reaction to the stigma that exists on those who have "good voice" and those who don't have it; about who can sing but "I don't know". This project is simultaneously a provocation and a tribute to all the people who identify with "not knowing how to sing" and is above all dedicated to women, their origins and their stories.
The project is made up of two singers who they find their voice in traditional roots and in music sung in Portuguese. And its objective is to give the opportunity and space for singing and expression through the voice, based on the fact that everyone knows how to sing and those who sing are amazed by their problems.
Open to everyone, of any age.
Registration: 15 BOOTS
