About event
We invite you to the opening of the exhibition Eva Jaroňová: Who Wants to Be Eaten?, The curator of the exhibition is Edita Malina.
Opening: 4. 3. 2025/18:00
Exhibition: 5. 3 - 24. 3. 2025
How to consume the world without eating ourselves? It is a paradox that cannot be unrisored. Every attempt to look at the world "out of the outside" in itself is an act of consumption. Everything we perceive immediately enters the cycle of our thoughts, feelings and desire to understand. But what if we tried? What if we try to become an observer who never affects, never taste, never overwhelm?
The world does not look like a network of relationships, but as an endless cycle of consumption. The sun burns the atmosphere - feeds plants. The soil absorbs remnants - it recycles the remains for a new life. And people? They occupy a special place - they consume not only nutrients but also the very essence of the world. They transform forests into fields, fields into monocultures and change natural variety into efficiency. From the position of "outside" we can see that one is not only a consumer, but also an architect of destruction transforms the world to his needs, regardless of his balance. Is it a truly inevitable part of the cycle? Every inhalation, each step is a form of consumption. The idea that we can stand aside and only "observe" is the myth: Even inactivity is an act. When our bodies spread out when we become part of the compost, there will be no more "external place". We will feed what we wanted to control before. And then we may understand that the only way not to consume the world is to become it. Weaker individuals get help without expecting a reward. Silent solidarity that does not have a hierarchy has no winner or losers - just a link that ensures the survival of the whole. The world is not only about care and belonging. It's a fight. A constant game of who will be an eater and a nutrient. In nature, instincts, speed and adaptations decide. In human society, this struggle has a different form: Who is betting, harvested and cooks? And who is just saturated with foreign work? At the social level, this struggle becomes invisible, hidden in the division of work. Those who cultivate the land rarely belong to those who really profit from her wealth. Utopian stream, where the boundaries between man, nature and technology are wiped out. Space without hierarchy and precise order, where each being has the same value - human, plant and digital. This space is not controlled by power, but by mutual care and interconnection. Cynically realistic current - here Utopia encounters reality, a world where exploitation of living and inanimate beings dominates. Man, the Lord of Creation, plunders the Earth and in this irony becomes a victim. The harsh humor of this perspective puts us before the question: What if we are not those who decide? What if the role turns and we will be what other species use? Against the background of selected works, there is watercolor painting, reminiscent of color circles of oil on the water surface, traces of toxic spots, whose surface is gently drawing detailed drawing.
Two dimensions of the same story. We jump between the worlds - micro balance and interconnection and macro destructive processes of global capitalism. Every decision we eat, where and how it has been grown is a political act. In Jaroňová, the soil under our feet is not only a source of life, but also a mirror of our values. And even though we feel separated from natural cycles, we are still part of the same process. City of Prague and the State Fund of the Czech Republic Culture.

How Can We Consume the World Without Devouring Oourselves? IT is a paradox That Cannot Be Unravel. Every Attempt to look at the world Everything We Perceive Immediales Enters the Cycle of Our Thoughts, Feelings, and the desire to UnderStand.
What attempped to Becom Observers who Never Touch, Never Tast, Never Transform? The Sun Burns The Atmosphere --Nurishing The Plants. The Soil Absorbs Remains --Recycling Leftovers into New Life. And Humans? They Occupy and Special Place --Consuming Not Only Nutrients But Also The Very Essence of the World. They Reshape Forests into Fields, Fields into Monocultures, and Transform Natural Diversity to Efficiency. From an “Outside” Perspective, IT Becomes Clear That Humans Are Not Just Consumers But Also architects of Destruction But is this trula an inevitable part of the cycle? Every Breath, Every Step Is and Form of Consumancy. The Idea That We Can Stand Aside and Merely "Obserings" IS and Myth: Even Inace is an Act. We are Entangled in a Network of Relationships That Constantly Surround and Change Us, Just As We Change Them. When our Bodies Decompose, When We Become Part of the Compost, There Will No Longer Be Any “Outside Place.” We Will Nourish What We Once South to Control. And only the might we understand that the only way not to consume the world is to become it.
Weaker Individuals Receiving Help without Expertation of Reward. And Quiet Solidarity That Has No Hierarchy, No Winners or Losers - Just Connections That Ensure The Survival of the Whole.
The World Is Not Only About Care and Belonging. It is and string - and Constant Game of Who Will Be The Eater and Who The Nourishment. In Nature, Instincts, Speed, and Adaptation Decide. In Human Society, This Struggle Takes and Different Forms: WHO SOWS, REAPS, AND COOKS? And who Simply Feeds on the Fruits of Others' Labor? Those Who Till The Soil Rarely Belong to Those Who Trula Profit from Its Wealth. And Space Without Hierarchy or Strict Order, Where Every Being Has Equal Value - Human, Plant, and Digital. This space is not governed by Power But by Mutual Care and Connection. Humanity, The Master of Creation, Plunders the Earth and, in This Iron, Becomes and Victim of Itself. The Harsh Humor of This Perspective Confronts US With A Question: What IF, One Day, We Are No Longer the Ones Who Decide? What the IF the roles are reversed, and we become what other species exploit? Behind Selected Works, Watercolor Paintings Unfold, Reminiscent of Colorful Circles of Oil on the Water’s Surface, Trace of Toxic Stains, On Which and Delicate, Detaled Drawing Emerges - Full of Uneas.
WE JUMP BETWEEN WORLDS --The micro-package of Care and Connection and the Macro-Destructive Process of Global Capitalism. Every decision - Whoht We Eat, Where and How It Was Grown - and Political Act. In Jaroňová’s Work, The Soil Beneath Our Feet Is Not Only A Source of Life But Also and Mirror of Our Values. And even if we feel separated from the natural cycles, we are a still part of the same process.
