About event
📍 AVU main building
classroom U6 (ground floor on the right)
Director Jakub Kučera together with cameraman Filip Rejč invited Eva Koťátková to visit her elementary school. Together, they walked through an empty building that had been inhabited by creatures created by the artist. Koťátková's gentle, sensitive and at the same time critical verbal commentary is accompanied by echoes of children's sounds and quotations from the school rules, which show us the space of the elementary school as a place that strongly shaped us all. What memories do we have from gymnasiums, changing rooms, dining rooms, benches and "from the front boards" into adulthood?
🐙
"How could one move differently here, where there are so many right angles, grids, lines?
Can a human body in which there is almost nothing at right angles feel good?
It is important to pay attention to what spaces we build for our bodies and what we want from these building bodies. It is important to pay attention to how and what we learn - if we are interested in what kind of world we shape it," says Eva Koťátková in the film.
🐙
The film will be screened twice (approx. 6:15 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., times are indicative) with the participation of the director and the artist. After the film, there will be an opportunity to have an informal discussion with them. Characteristically, the event takes place in a school environment, this time in a university classroom at AVU, where Artyčok.TV, which is behind the production of the film, is based.
🦑 The event is free.
