📣 Literary Residences Košice and Cinema Smile invite you to a special edition of the Literature event Literature And the film on the topic of horror in Latin American literature with translator Eva Lalkovičová, who works in Košice during the residence on his new translation from Spanish.

🗣️ Writer Michal Tall will talk about the return of ghosts and vampires to contemporary literature, empty houses or what they have in common Gothic and feminism, as well as Eva's current translations from which he will introduce us demonstrations. After the discussion we will screen the film selected by the author. In his work, it examines the work of contemporary Spanish writers and ways in which the criticism of the contemporary world articulates in the literature of the global south. In recent months, she has been working on the translation of the essays of the Spanish veterinarian and poetry Maríe Sánchez called Women's Land, for Glosolália, writes a series about contemporary Hispano -American feminist horror and prepares the translation of the novel Mexican Brenda Navarro Casas Vacas (empty houses). In January, these translations worked in Košice as a resident of the Literary Residence Program Košice. He published poetry collections of antimity (2016, Drewo and Heart), δ (2018, Drewo and Heart) and the book of darkness (2022, literary bastion) and the prosaic book Everything is OK, everywhere is love (2024, literary bastion). He regularly moderates author's readings, discussions about contemporary literature or film and Radio Devín Ars Litera. He also published his translations of Andrew McMillan or Sean Hewitt.
