F-Talk: Doba autoritářů

The debate will open the topic of authoritarian regimes in the contemporary world and will focus on how to recognize them even in an environment that at first glance appears to be democratic. Together with the guests, we will look at how authoritarianism is gradually born - through the weakening of institutions, media or courts - and what role social networks and modern technologies play in this today. The debate will offer concrete examples from practice and personal experiences of people living in authoritarian countries, including the impact on everyday life. At the same time, it will open up the question of whether and where we see similar tendencies even today, and how to navigate them better.

The debate is created in cooperation between the association Thanks, I can and the Václav Havel Library within the educational platform Thanks, I can.

Journalist Vojtěch Boháč (Voxpot), philosopher of language Tomáš Koblížek and sociology student Nikita Dvurechenskii accepted the invitation to the debate. The debate is moderated by Hana Strašáková from Dáčí že pom.
