The modern hospice movement has its roots in Christian charity as well as in the commitment of religious communities.
Palliative care is based on Christian values and emphasizes the dignity and the value of every person, regardless of the end of his illness, his life and its origin. This attitude coincides with Christian values such as respect for life and concern for the next. This includes questions about dealing with suffering, the meaning of life and dying. The question of euthanasia is also a highly topical topic in which the churches represent different positions.
pastoral care and spiritual accompaniment are important components of palliative care and are often performed by Christian pastors.
Berlin has a large number of international Christian communities that offer services in different languages. To do this, the Berlin Missionswerk maintains close contacts.
We will deepen all of these questions and aspects with you and cordially invite you to the
specialist conference on September 8th, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the neighborhood house Urbanstrasse.
