In the penitentiary, where the poet Jan Zahradníček was imprisoned in 1951 in 1951. This is based mostly on the prison correspondence between the poet and his wife Marie, played by actors Saša Rašilov and Lucie Trmíková.
The production commemorates the fate of the poet and his life relationship directly in the authentic premises of the former penitentiary, where a few years ago the same topic was also worked out by the production of your Jan Theater Oder Oder. The poet, who lived before his arrest with his family in the nearby Černopolní Street, was unfairly tried and punished by the Communist regime, and in the penitential he was interned in the beginning of his nine -year pilgrimage for various prison facilities.
Jan and Marie Zahradníček were husbands for 15 years, of whom he was imprisoned in the communist camp for 9 years. After his arrest in 1951, Marie and their three children were evicted from the apartment to end up on the state farm without water, electricity and heating. When he was imprisoned, their two daughters died of mushroom poisoning. He was released to the funeral, saying he didn't have to come back, but then they took him back to prison anyway. Yet Marie managed to conceive for the fourth time. Jan saw his fourth child at the age of three. Four months later died.
