About event
For the anniversary of “40 Years of Rock Me Amadeus”: The stage success in a new version!
“The Commissioner” is back! After hundreds of performances, countless sold-out shows and over half a million enthusiastic visitors, the makers of “FALCO – The Musical” are now bringing the latest masterpiece from the creative team around lead actor Alexander Kerbst on tour and are reviving the myth once again: “FALCO MEETS AMADEUS” tells the story of two absolutely exceptional phenomena in music history in a visually powerful and eccentric way, combining all the great Falco hits live with the exciting story of the legendary Viennese. The sensational new stage show provides a deep insight into the thoughts and feelings of the artist and the person behind the dazzling pop icon and honors the great life's work of the "Falcon".
FALCO MEETS AMADEUS - Between genius and madness
Over 60 million records sold, countless sold-out concerts and the only German-language song at the top of the US charts made Falco the most internationally successful Austrian musicians – alongside Mozart. In “Rock Me Amadeus” he sings about Mozart's fame, debts and women - topics that also shaped him. The song was a turning point in Falco's career and cannot be missing from "FALCO MEETS AMADEUS". Both were exceptional artists, ahead of their time, with unmistakable styles and eventful life stories between genius and madness - two icons whose legacy extends far beyond their early death.
On the controversial exceptional artist and his music
“I will only be immortal when I am dead!” – The new homage to the greatest genius in German-speaking pop and rap history is centered around these dark words. FALCO MEETS AMADEUS is a gripping musical journey through the ups and downs in the life of the exceptional artist who enjoyed life to its limits. “That was Falco, but now we play proper music.” The radio station Ö3's commentary on a Falco title shows how controversial it was. Producer Oliver Forster emphasizes: "The great demand and the ongoing audience interest prove how much Falco still lives in people's minds and hearts. Such a risk as with our previous Falco production and now the adaptation to FALCO MEETS AMADEUS only works with real, timeless legends."
