Famous in Toekomstmuziek

Famous is a London-based project led by Jack Merrett, the lyricist and sole consistent band member. The band makes songs full of melancholic electronics, warm acoustics and complex structures. 2021 saw their fame rise within South London's celebrated Brixton Windmill scene, where they shared the stage with notable acts such as Black Country, New Road and Black Midi. Over the years, Famous has built up an enigmatic image through their introspective lyrics and rooftop concerts. This year the band released their debut album 'Party Album', which, according to Merrett, "seeks to sketch the pattern of the universal within a flawed and partial human life." Despite initial intentions to produce a classic rock record, the band's penchant for experimentation led to a dynamic and versatile album.
