Femislam is a celebration of women in slam poetry, who have a large presence on the Slovak scene. It is also possible to enjoy the best female performers in full force, in one place and with increased intensity!
Come and see an exceptional show in Tabačka and decide which of the straw girls will become the queen of the evening.
SIBYL MARMORSTEIN:
Sibyl was born and lives in Košice. She chose her pseudonym after two literary characters. A graduate of the interdisciplinary study of theoretical biology at the Department of Philosophy and History of Natural Sciences and the doctoral study of artificial intelligence at the Department of Cybernetics, she is dedicated to biocybernetics and the popularization of science, especially biological fields. In 2021, she completed workshops and became a finalist of the Small Slam Scene showcase. Although she has been labeled the author of spiritual poetry thanks to the returning motifs in her work, she is a convinced skeptic and supporter of science-slam.
ZUZANA CASCINO:
Finalist of the Slovak Slam Poetry Championship 2024, a journalist from the war front in Ukraine and a slammer who usually makes the audience cry. But slam poetry is about strong emotions, so it naturally belongs to slam life.
ANDY:
This pale face in the gothic style hides lyrics full of melancholy and longing for love. In addition to performing, he co-organizes the Prešov slam scene. His hobbies include the color red, red lipstick, being sad and formal dressing style.
ĽALIA: Fusion between poetry and slam, audacity and tenderness, mesmerizing expression and fragility. Ľalia is a rising star of the Slovak Slam, whose name you should remember.
NATY: In her lyrics, Naty tries to admit the feelings she is afraid to express, so that she can say that it is only an art form and it means nothing. Don't be fooled, he means the emotions he describes seriously, but not the jokes. It would be a problem if someone got it wrong.
Naty enjoys slamming for several reasons - she can complain (which she's very good at) and it's a way to express feelings and tell bad jokes without being taken seriously. Maybe that is also the reason why he is studying psychology. He rambles on about pretty women, his family and everything else that's on his mind (but mostly it's the pretty women).
ABBY: The most prominent voice of trans people in Slovak slam, initiator of ecumenical programs, trainer of snail pokemon, cook of social soups, forever second, fluent in Slovak, proud Štítničan.
REXY:
Rexy is the unique and only slamming drag queen on the Slovak slam scene! She is the queen of makeup and breaking the cardinal rule of Slam Poetry - no costume. However, we will forgive her for her charm and the type of event this time!
On stage, she will impress you not only with her playful outfits, but also with her lyrics, through which she reveals the natural femininity of her male civilian self.
