About event

Her trademark is her fiery red hair, both then and now. But she also stood out early on with her warm voice. Already on stage at the age of eight, she was discovered by Heinz Quermann at the age of 16. After training in singing and piano in Zwickau, Berlin later became her adopted home. Regina Thoss sang, danced and presented at festivals, including international ones, and the doors of the Friedrichstadtpalast were always open to her. Especially for the television viewers of “Kessel Buntes” - an audience of millions - she is an integral part of the shows with ballet, acrobatics, cabaret and singing.
The heartwarming artist will be 80 years old next year. But until then she'll rock a few more shows. In “Resurrection of the Ruins” she is currently on various stages with the grand dames of GDR entertainment Dagmar Frederic and Dagmar Gelbke. The three divas sing cult hits and chansons, look back on their careers and engage in humorous verbal battles.
Every Saturday Thoss also presents the music show “Take the song as a souvenir” on ddreins. Danuta Schmidt talks to the entertainer about all of this, her autobiography and how life and art can best succeed. And of course Regina Thoss will also sing...

Danuta Schmidt has lived and worked in Berlin for 25 years as a journalist, author and presenter. In her own series SonntagsLese, which she initiated for 15 years, she met interesting people, from the famous to the infamous. Her topics include the architecture of Eastern Modernism, environmental awareness, historical and contemporary literature, the search for one's own identity, for home, inner peace, and creativity. The native Thuringian built an independent and creative conversation and discussion forum that has become rare today.
