About event
The dance-theatrical production "Fertuška" is based on the inspiration from the collection of short stories The Image of a Woman in a Slovak Short Story by several Slovak authors. The collection presents a varied palette of views on women, their status within society, but especially their intimate experiences, emotional world and the fine print of relationships with men. The dance theater production created by the Noir dance company also talks about this content.
On the stage there are women of various forms - a mother who is also a wife, a lover and a daughter. The daughter can be seen in two age stages - as a child and as a grown woman, the narrator of the whole story, trying to look at the events from the point of view of each person involved. Her motivation is trying to cope with a long-standing paranoia about infidelity, which is gradually destroying her own partner relationship. By retelling the story, he wants to understand all its characters, their actions, and come to terms with the fact that every relationship can fall apart. The production aims to explore the individual forms of a woman in relation to a man, but at the same time not to put the male gender in negative opposition and not to denigrate it. The main message is the ability of a woman who can internally accept positive and negative elements of her own story and overcome irrational feelings of fear and mistrust in a relationship. And look at it from every woman's point of view. Yes, it's masochistic. Well, maybe that will erase my memory completely. Perhaps when I relive all the events, I will be able to forget them.'
Direction and choreography: Dominika Malenovská
Text and dramaturgy: Katarína Jungová
Music: Miroslav Lach, Erik Žigmund
Science and costume: Radovan Molec
Production: Lucie Solanská
