We invite you to the last expert discussion within the Rule of Law Festival 2025 about the state of the rule of law in Slovakia in the context of human rights. On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, on the eve of International Human Rights Day, we will talk about current human rights issues from 17:00 at Atelier Svetlík in Nova Cvernovka (Račianska 78, Bratislava).
The discussion will be devoted to topics including the impact of the constitutional amendment on the enforceability of international human rights obligations, of which Slovakia is a part, the role of national identity in the debate on the universality of human rights, or the specific possibilities of protecting the human rights of people from vulnerable groups in the rule of law and the barriers they face.
They will discuss:
• Mr. Lucia Berdisová, lawyer
• p. Miroslava Mittelmannová, program director of the League for Human Rights
• Mr. Rado Sloboda, director of Amnesty International Slovakia
The discussion is moderated by Marián Filčík from the Slovak National Center for Human Rights.
