About event
Join us for a screening of No More Everyday Life, a documentary by Norwegian filmmaker Elsa Kvamme. The film tells the story of Ruth Maier, a young Jewish refugee from Austria whose diary captures her coming of age in exile in Norway before she was deported to Auschwitz in 1942. Her writings were preserved by her girlfriend, Gunvor Hofmo, who went on to become one of Norway’s most influential poets.
The film blends Ruth’s diary entries with archival footage and reconstructed scenes to bring her story to life.
After the screening, director Elsa Kvamme will join us online for a Q&A session.
The screening will be held on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, in Room D.2 of Kampus Hybernská.
This event is held with assistance from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
Supported by the German Federal Ministry of Finance and the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future.
