🌳Bosk - the walking forest in Leeuwarden
Documentary is in English with Dutch subtitles - 30 minutes
In the summer of 2022 there was a walk a forest of more than a thousand trees for a hundred days through the city center of Leeuwarden. It made the city greener, softer and richer. The documentary 'The Walking Forest' by filmmakers Rose Casella and Floris Leeuwenberg provides a visual representation of what the forest meant to the residents and the city. The documentary won the audience award at the Cineglobe film festival in Geneva, and Bosk won, among other things, the Dutch Design Awards.

🌳Circle4Change
presentation lasts approx. – 30 minutes
Bosk's successor is Circle4Change, a European landscape artwork in the form of a circular line through nine countries, including the Netherlands. Circle4Change connects and inspires, on the way to a world in harmony with nature and the planet. The Tour 2025 starts on Friday, April 11, when a tree will cycle almost 5,000 kilometers through nine European countries. The tree, which follows the circle line, invites everyone to plant a tree every year on your birthday. To encourage this, birthday trees are distributed to birthday people along the way.

🌳Bruno Doedens – Landscape Artist
For more than twenty years, landscape artist Bruno Doedens has been investigating the dynamic relationship between art, nature and landscape. His evocative landscapes are without exception large in size and number, just as a landscape is many and large. Doedens encourages the audience, who are both participants and spectators, to play, to wonder and to confuse by making the everyday unusual. And thus creates space for imagination. From now on they look at a landscape they already thought they knew with different eyes. The temporary landscapes are not the same as each day. Until they disappear completely again. What remains is the memory, the longing. The landscapes have become places with an inspiring story and a memory.
The projects give space to the imagination and raise questions. About the relationship between humans and nature, for example. About the importance of imagination and the role of the arts in it. With radical imagination and mobilizing social energy within communities, attention is drawn to socially relevant themes in a playful way. In his last major project Bosk - in which more than a thousand trees walked through the city center of Leeuwarden for a hundred days - and its successor Circle4Change - a circle line through nine countries in Europe - it was important for both to be a good ancestor, not to be burdensome, but enriching. for the earth. As in all his projects, artists, residents, the public and the forces of nature all played a leading role in Bosk and Circle4Change.
