📽 Come and see a successful documentary film How to Cook History for the screening of Cineclub, which was created under the auspices of the film at our school and the other seven Alliance schools. Our student, which forms the Slovak unit of Cineclub, has prepared a projection and subsequent discussion with a cutter Marek Šulík.

📜 Entry for screening and discussion is also free to the public. We will screen the film in the original multi -language version with English subtitles. The discussion will take place in the Slovak language. The event will not be streamed.

About the film:
The successful documentary film by Petr Kerekes from 2009 is built on the recipes of military chefs from World War II to the war in Chechnya, from France to the Balkans to Russia. It shows war conflicts and fundamental historical events from an unusual point of view. It talks about field cuisine as a model of the world, where food preparation becomes a tactic of fighting. The struggle for great ideals that stand on the firm legs of the kitchen table. Chefs from different parts of Europe are preparing their favorite meals in this film, telling dramatic stories from military life behind the stove, and thanks to their narration we get a stimulating interpretation of the so -called. great history.

About the guest:
Marek Šulík, director of the film President, who only won the National Film Award in the Network for Best Documentary Film just a few days ago, he acts as a filmmaker in several professions. In addition to his own directorial work (the journey of Magdalena Robinson, the bells of happiness, the heavy soul ...), as a editor, he participated in many documentary, featured and animated works of his colleagues, including Petr Kerekes and his films how history is cooked. He is a graduate of FTF VŠMU, where he is currently teaching in the studio of documentary creation.
