About event
How to think about the movie today? How can you write about audiovisual culture today? For whom?
We invite you to the debate on film literature in Slovakia on Monday 23.6. From 18:00 to Artfora to Havna Street 87.
to discuss Peter Dubecky (director of SFI), along with Maria Ferencuhova, Peter Michalovic and Martin Kaňuch, who participate in the formation of SFI publishing activities. 31 years of IFF Art Film Košice 2025.
On the Internet and increasingly, in cooperation with artificial intelligence, there are no longer there are no restrictions. However, thinking about the film, knowledge not only of domestic but also world cinematography, awareness of historical context and complexity of contemporary trends, is not so simple.
The Slovak Film Institute, the only state institution that preserves, examines and opens the cinematographic heritage in our country and regularly presents it to IFF Art Film, is also the main publisher and guarantor of professional literature on the film in our country - translation and original, domestic authors. Of course, it emphasizes books dedicated to the history of Slovak film culture, but it does not avoid the popularization of thinking about the film.
