About event
Lecturer's introduction: Marie Baresova
The costly costume image of the night butterfly set in the period of fading secretion excelled in its cosmopolitan concept over period production. The multilayered work of the captivating work is underlined by exceptional work with Mizanscene. It connected the effects of Ferdinand Pečenka, the buildings of Jan Zázvorka and above all the handy costumes of Fernando Vácha, who designed refined clothes with narrative function. On the contrary, it is a tissue narrative about unfulfilled love. The fate of the main character, like other characters of the film, evokes the situation of the Queer of Men: The Free poor woman is excluded to the edge of society without achieving the desired partnership. A tragic love motive has already appeared through an episode with Viktorka in Stork's grandmother. The inaccessible man there, as in the night butterfly, was embodied by Gustav Nezval. However, the preserved exterior shots of scantily clad or naked men are rather than confirming Czech vassalism against the Empire by evidence of aesthetic preferences vigorously deviating from the tradition of films filmed by predominantly heterosexual men.
