We invite you to watch unique short films that were created on the grounds of the University of Performing Arts. The authors of the films themselves will also be present.
🎬 Radek Ševčík - Poisoned Well
12.10.2022. Terrorist attack in Bratislava. The death of two innocent LGBTI+ people - Juraj and Matúš.
No political answer. Monochromatic documentary requiem discusses the deteriorating state of Slovak society after the attack, as well as the wide range of feelings of LGBTI+ people, including the author of the film himself. Suppressed emotions cannot be filtered even on a self-defense course.
The well remains poisoned, the poison called intolerance still cannot be removed from it. Is it necessary for people to live in fear?

The war in Ukraine is still going on. In winter, the capital city of Kyiv turns into a city of shadows and silhouettes. The shelling of energy targets has taken the war from the trenches to ordinary households, and people are trying to adjust to life in the dark. Thanks to the reduction of light smog, the stars shine brighter and astronomers unexpectedly open up new possibilities for research.

In the small village of Křtetice, Dávid, an ambitious performer, is preparing for an important concert. The film focuses on his relationship with his parents, whose attitude towards his identity is complex. David searches for a way to cope with their expectations while trying to be himself. As the day of the performance approaches, she discovers the power of love and identity. "The Queen of the Village" explores the theme of authenticity in an environment that doesn't always understand it.
