Not only Filmpolska is celebrating its 20th edition this year, but also the legendary DJ collective Soul Service. Even more: The Roadrunner’s Paradise recently let the corks pop on his 20th anniversary. So there are exactly 20 + 20 + 20 = 60 reasons to dance through the late summer night, to toast the Polish cinema and to discuss the latest canvas experiences. Funk, soul and jazz from all over the world, with special attention to Polish recordings from the 1960s and 1970s. Vinyl plates and handmade DJ art are trademarks of the group-and lots of danceable Grooooooove!
Soul Service founded the now legendary record series "Polish Funk" and published various further compilations of pictures from Poland and Central/Eastern Europe (including "Interwizje. East European Visions of Groovy Sound (1969-1982) "," Kroniki Filmowe. Polish Library Music 1963–78 "," Off Season. Jazz & Grooves from Poland 1966-1989 "," Why Hot Cocktail of Trooves From Cold War Poland "and" Strange Weekend. Grooves from Poland “) - preferably with pearls from the sixties and Seventies, which would otherwise have been forgotten.
In the past 20 years you could experience the DJs in clubs and at festivals in over 20 countries in Europe and Asia. They also moderated radio programs and invited numerous foreign artists to Poland. Now come to Berlin and take the cinema and club audience on a journey through time in the golden era of handmade music, which cannot stop at a leg.
