About event
Come to Climate Lab for a screening of "Duty of Care" (OmU), an exciting documentary that shows how legal measures can advance climate protection where others have failed.
"Duty of Care" tells the exclusive inside story of Roger Cox, the Dutch lawyer who brought the groundbreaking climate cases against the government and oil and gas giant Shell. These two groundbreaking judgments triggered an international wave of successful climate lawsuits.
The climate crisis is also worsening in Austria, but the country could do much more. A climate lawsuit before the European Court of Human Rights could change that. For example,Müllner v. Austriasomething that has been promised for years but not delivered: climate protection that keeps its promise. A ruling can legally oblige the government to act, not at some point, but now.
Many people are still unaware of this case, even in the climate movement. But visibility is crucial. The more visible the lawsuit, the greater the pressure.
With popcorn in hand, together we will connect what we have seen with Austrian reality and open the space for shared exchange and reflection, together with the plaintiff in the Müllner vs Austria case, Mex Müllner and the CLAW - Climate Law Team.
