The beginning of the 19th century. Chorbaji Yurdan and his son Iono return from Hajilak and find the plague raging in the Bulgarian lands. The road home is littered with burning villages, bandits, chaos and fear. And Yono is in a hurry for a wedding. His fiancee Elitsa is waiting for him – brave and faithful, she sensed the danger. The villagers are starving and scared. Fear can turn into violence in seconds.
Will love and lust for life be able to prevail over terror and insanity? The black plague will bring out the worst and the best in human nature.
The end of this journey is as rich and sudden as life itself!
