The famous Bulgarian Film researcher Alexander Grozev tells about the life of actress Iwa Vanya, which was full of unexpected twists, dramas and strokes of fate. Fame came to the actress early, and the refrain of a song popular in Germany in the 1930s goes: “All of Berlin adores me, I am the Bulgarian Iwa Vanya!” In her long career she received many roles and remained the only Bulgarian to make a name for herself in European cinema during the silent era.
