After numerous international and local selections, the film became the big winner of the Film Festival in Calcutta, India - with two awards: for the best film and the FIPRESCI Prize.
The film "Tarika" was selected as the Bulgarian entry in the International Feature Film category for the 98th Academy Awards.
In the film, the eternal conflict between good and evil is told through the story of Tarika - a girl with special abilities who lives in a border region where people of different ethnic backgrounds seemingly live together in harmony. But one day her farm animals begin to die mysteriously, whereupon the superstitious villagers blame Tarika for the misfortune and decide to settle accounts with her and her father on their own.
