About event
We cordially invite you to the last philosophical talk of the year, this time about philosophy itself!
As always, a round table will await us, at which we will philosophize about philosophy together, while we can open questions such as:
- What is philosophy? Who is a philosopher? What does it mean to philosophize?
- What is the difference between philosophy and "philosophies"?
- Does philosophy have a defined field of objects of investigation, or can it investigate anything?
- What is the difference between non-philosophical and philosophical thought?
- Has the role of philosophy changed today - compared to its historical significance?
- What is the relationship of philosophy to science and art? can it affect the individual and society?
The event is open to everyone and no special preparation is required. Philosophical mentors will be present who, if necessary, will direct the discussion or specify the philosophical context.
Basic rules of the discussion:
- We formulate our views and positions
- We listen and try to understand other views and positions
- We have a civilized discussion about them
- Agreement is not a creed, but recognition of a better argument
- Disagreement is not a form of aggression, but considering the argument insufficient
- We only attack arguments, we do not attack those who formulate them
- We respect our similarities and differences equally
Entrance is free.
We look forward to seeing you!
