About event
Allow us to invite you to the XXVII. Finals of the Slovak Debate League at the end of the 2025/2026 debate season.
The final debate will take place in the Moyzes Hall of FiF UK in Bratislava. You will see the battle of the two best teams that fought their way through three regional rounds, quarter-finals and semi-finals until the final itself.
The thesis that will be debated is as follows:
"We prefer a world in which the Brussels Wall project was implemented in the European Union."
Infoslide: The Brussels Wall project is a fictitious European Union policy that was proposed in this alternative world at the end of the 90s. years, during the initial rise of the Internet and social networks. The main goal would be the radical protection of the European digital space against third countries. According to this policy, a centralized mechanism would be introduced across member states to automatically block information channels and social networks of third countries.
The Brussels wall would practically create an EU intranet through which the EU would enforce compliance with European digital regulations, keep the data of European internet users on its territory and filter the availability of content from third countries. A similar policy was implemented in the contemporary world in the People's Republic of China as the so-called The Great Firewall of China.
The registration form can be found here (only valid for the final debate in Moyzes Hall): https://forms.gle/RD5zGqUuqBhAYQMS6
Event schedule:
