About event

The finale of the exhibition Lucia Tkáčová: My Life Nobody Lives will take place on Sunday, November 10, from 2 p.m. in the House of Gentlemen of Kunštát.

The finale is conceived as a dialogue between the author and curator Barbora Trnková. The dialogue will develop in a discussion with the visitors and thus complete the healing and palliative processes started by the creation of the exhibition. The key components of the exhibition focusing on the theme of codependency include process, sharing and testimony.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Warning: The exhibition deals with alcohol addiction and its consequences in a suggestive way. If you think that this topic might concern you, please consider your visit.

The artist Lucia Tkáčová is known as the author of provocative, engaged and highly suggestive works, which she mostly creates in collaboration with other authors and authors. In G99, however, she performs for herself, and above all for herself.

As a child, she grew up in a family affected by alcoholism and still copes with various consequences, including so-called co-dependency. This condition forces the codependent person to completely put aside their own needs for the needs of others, with whom, on the contrary, they deal so intensively that their own life basically has no one to live. which makes it possible to see and feel the hidden connections and mechanisms between members of a certain group. We are invited into the corners of the inner reflection of the author's family situation, so that for a moment, as guests, we can feel the hopeless drama of the taboo consequences of a substance that is proudly normalized in our culture.

The exhibition was supported from public resources by the Art Support Fund.< br/>The exhibition is part of the cycle Your Addiction Is The Message, which explores the topic of addiction and escape strategies in the context of art. By reinterpreting the famous sentence of the media theorist Marshall McLuhan "Medium is the message", we propose to approach addictions as a source of embedded information, which may be essential for the processes of world change in polycrisis.
