Finisáž výstavy Kým voda nezmyje breh: Performatívne čítanie – Sila spoločného hlasu

The performative reading connects six voices who have experience with systemic oppression, repression, crises and genocides in different parts of the world. Each of these voices represents a different form of resistance, survival and the search for dignity within the destructive steps of states and power systems.

The project is based on the concept of conjuncture by Stuart Hall, who understands it as a historical moment in which several social, economic and political crises intersect, but at the same time open up new possibilities for solidarity, collective action and joint survival. In this intersection of different struggles, there is the potential to recognize that our experiences are connected, that they are common vessels, common struggles.

The reading will take place directly in the installation of the work Prone*é to dreaming, which creates a space for stopping, listening and sharing voices.

Dreaming and imagining a different, more just world is a key act of resistance. As Robin D. G. Kelley writes in Freedom Dreams. The Black Radical Imagination (1992). This approach inspires us to thoughts of inclusion and solidarity with each and every one who has been labeled as "other" - and who seeks to rewrite this otherness and turn it into strength. Our long-term struggle for equality and justice carries an experience that today's world needs to hear.
