About event
Finnish-Japanese folklore mixtape, home Buto, DIY Kabuki and obscure gags. Solo performance of Pasi Mäkelä. Bazaar Festival will present its unique combination of cultures Fugk-Finno-Ugric Garage Kabuki. PASI Mäkelä connects seemingly disparate elements - the Finnish Humppa music style, sound and object installation and Japanese theater traditions and creates a ceremonial situation where the ritual turns into a grotesque game. Mäkelä examines the subconscious body, the so -called subbods, or physical expression as the equivalent of the concept of the subconscious mind, when our body belongs to all bodies as a whole. Mäkelä is inspired by the Finnish hunting ritual Karhun Peijaiset and transforms it through the stylized expressiveness of Kabuki. The result is a performative world of absurd humor and obscure gags, where tradition meets the chaos of the present.
** The performance is linguistic barrier -free. He studied at Turku Arts Academy in Finland, where he won the title as a theater director and editor. His approach to performance and creation is inspired by personal experience with funeral rituals in Zambia. He is a long -time member of the Finnish theater communities of the reality of Research Centers and Circus Maximus. He currently works in the music projects The Spermbankers, Fart Arers and in various improvisation collaborations. His distinctive authorial works include solo performance tontt or Walrus vampire show or projects with his own musical/performance group Sabotanic Garden. He regularly hosts as an actor, performer or musician in diverse one -time or staging works. The terrain is a dramaturgical and production platform without its own ensemble and a permanent scene that has been acting next to the Hus on String and Hadivadlo as the third scene of the Center for Experimental Theater.
