Fire! Fire ot! Orchestra, the Swedish trio formed by Mats Gustafsson, Johan Berthling and Andreas Werliin arrives at ZDB in the recent Testament ride. Eighth album of the band, not to mention the five of the imposing orchestra, 'Testament' carries in its title a kind of manifesto of subliminal intention, such as will - not definitive, of course - of the vitality of the trio. Much contradictory it may be. Marking a return to their hard core, after collaboration with people such as Jim O'Rourke or Oren Ambarchi and loose guests throughout their discography, also discardes the preceding adventure, organs, organs to nest in a baritone saxophone trio, bass and battery. Caught live in the studio by the late Steve Albini - RIP - 'Testament' Dead the Fire's sound! To its most essential without implying any kind of setback, rather a process of cumulative clearance of all these years of practice and invention, as if to a new level of expressiveness where intuition, dialogue and common vision are sublimated in five beasts that reveal that the future can be simple and lived with equal intensity and devotion. Focusing on all the collective energy in the same physical-mental space, 'Testament' engages the premises of improvisation, jazz, rock, noise, and psycho-in-one inherent in all this immediate themes in its impact as expansive in its possibilities through Gustafsson's primordial breath, capable of with the most memorable lines and the most deconcerting, the security and the smoothness of the beer Hling and Werliin's accurate and full battery in a rare case of absolute tune. Artist originating from Porto and currently based in Lisbon, builds his musical identity in a continuous process of experimentation and clearance. The saxophone, the piano and the electric bass are the vertices of a language that is affirmed between lyricism and dissonance, between melody and sound friction. His music carries a sense of purge and a violent lyrical depth, born of the confrontation between the intimacy and the inexorable movement of the real that goes through the various cities where he goes, in a continuous search for truth and freedom.
