About event
Gaining global attention with 2019's sold-out EP Backyard and 2020's critically acclaimed debut album From a View, Floodlights have played sold-out shows and festivals across Australia, performing alongside bands such as Amyl and The Sniffers and Arctic Monkeys. In 2023 Floodlights supported Pavement and Black Midi on their Australian tours and also performed at SXSW in Texas, USA. They then embarked on a UK/Europe tour playing a number of festivals such as Green Man and End Of The Road where they showcased their latest album Painting of My Time which was shortlisted for the 2023 Australian Music Awards.
Floodlights' dynamic live performance is raw and intimate, laced with powerful blasts and marching rhythms. The core of their songwriting has always been evocative lyrics, enhanced by their unique sound. Since the beginning of their short career, the Floodlights have dealt with themes of personal turbulence, national identity and the Australian landscape as a form of escapism. Painting of My Time signals the band's next step, building on these themes while showcasing their sonic progression, which translates into a captivating live show.
