About event
We invite you to a guided tour of the FOAM IN THE CAGE exhibition with Juraj Rattaj!
Modern man has always sought to gain and maintain a high degree of control and management over the natural world. The joint exhibition of the artists Juraj Rattaj (SK) and Martin Chramost (CH/CZ/AU) thematizes the human effort to appropriate nature with the help of spatial installations. Foam in the Cage is both a literal description and a hazy metaphor that suggests the futility of capturing something that is inherently elusive. The work combines love of freedom with bleak foreboding, balancing between a dystopian feel and escapist relief.
FOR MAAT gallery is a partner of Trenčín 2026.The Foam in the cage exhibition is an activity of the Long-term strategy and implementation capacities project, which is part of Trenčín 2026. Trenčín 2026 is financially supported by the City of Trenčín, the Trenčín self-governing region and the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The partner is the European Union.
