About event
Baritone Thomas Oliemans and Amsterdam Sinfonietta go in Formidable! Traveling through France, in which chansons are interspersed with classic works by French grandmasters.
As a boy, Bariton Thomas Oliemans already sang with the stars of the French Chanson, thanks to his father's LP collection. Now that he is a celebrated opera singer and is performing in the large opera houses all over the world, he returns to his early passion with Amsterdam Sinfonietta: the French chanson.
Popular and lesser -known works, ranging from Jacques Brel to Barbara and from Charles Tenet to Stromaae, are exchanged and rejects Fauré. They illustrate the unmistakable and lasting French sound idiom in both "high" and "low" art forms throughout the centuries.
