One of the placemaking projects developed in the Jardins do Bombarda was to build a wood oven in one of the old kitchens of Casinhas do Jardim that belonged to the workers of the former Miguel Bombarda psychiatric hospital. An old fireplace gave rise to a new oven, where we intend, through the collective act of making bread, to bring together an intergenerational and multicultural population that shares knowledge and flavors, thus increasing the population's feeling of belonging to this cultural and community center. This day marks the debut of the Jardins do Bombarda community oven where various breads will be baked, inviting people to prepare dough and taste the bread.
Jardins do Bombarda is a cultural and community center promoted by LARGO Residências, in partnership with Estamo and a group of resident socio-cultural organizations. This activity has the financial support of Lisbon City Council (BIP-ZIP Program).
