With a lot of fun in the use of light, targeted image composition and the misuse of some objects, we create extraordinary images beyond the usual representation.

It's less about what exactly we capture on the sensor, but rather how we photograph something.

Our goal is to break away from the usual representational photography and use abstraction to create previously invisible or little-noticedstructures, To effectively showcase colors or shapes.

Through the clever use of image design and staging, everyday objects suddenly become fascinating, sometimes painterly-looking color and light compositions.

Using long exposure and reflections we create completelynew, unexpected graphic impressions and when playing with different liquids and color there are endless possibilities for variation in how we can make our photos even more exciting.

Procedure and topics in the photography course

• Introduction to the abstract Photography
• creative shooting techniques
• set construction with simple means
• introduction to flash technology & continuous light
• working with a macro lens and extension rings
• image editing and RAW workflow
• lots of suggestions, ideas and fresh inspiration

In this workshop we mainly work with prepared experimental sets in the studio and present various recording techniques for abstraction. The setups can all be recreated at home with little effort, so that the photography course can serve as a source of inspiration for further ideas of your own.

Who is the photography workshop suitable for?

In this creative course, the individual support of each individual participant is particularly important to me. You will be met exactlywhere you are - both on the creative and technical side.

You can try out, trick and vary to your heart's content. All you need is the joy of creative experimentation and a manually adjustable camera.

Experience with flash and tripod is an advantage, but not required. I explain each set in detail and also in a beginner-friendly way :)

Equipment

• Camera, manually adjustable and with hot shoe
• Tripod, like that available
• Standard lens (zoom or fixed focal length) or light telephoto lens
• Macro lens or extension rings, if available
• Wide-angle lens, if available
• Laptop

Macro hardware for the most common camera manufacturers (standard bayonet connections for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus) is available to you on loan during the workshop.
