About event
They still exist, those books that make you marvel, pick up or... well... take you with you... walking on the thin line between philosophy and poetry, on which people sometimes outgrow themselves or just go crazy...
“Tree wise voices” A novel by Frank Hahn
What does Joseph Beuys have to do with music and philosophy? How does an image penetrate the viewer's body? And how does this happen with a text? What connects letters and trees? How are reading and walking in the forest similar? Which voices do we speak with and which voices speak within us? The novel “Treewise Voices” explores these and other questions. This leads to a variety of human encounters in which, not least, what Beuys called social sculpture takes on a living form. The reality of these encounters is, as one can read in the novel, more powerful than that of the news that floods us. Because the physical realization of artistic and literary creation also changes the willingness to see the wounds of others and to create space for the diversity of voices. The encounters in the novel take place in Berlin, which is described as a city of wounds (and miracles) from many an unusual perspective.
Frank Hahn is an author, philosopher and Gestalt therapist and heads the Spree-Athen e.V. cultural association. He has written two books about the philosophy of Franz Rosenzweig. “Tree wise voices” is his second novel and was published in spring 2025.
The Periplaneta TresenLesen. There is reading and talking. It's about literature, art and the big questions. Entertaining, sometimes controversial and unpredictable in dynamics.
Entry: 7 p.m., start: 7.30 p.m., entry €6 / €8.
